Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Specialist - Network Data Infrastructure to manage and optimize our organization's network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data networks, including LAN, WAN, dynamic routing, Aruba wireless, Cisco solutions, SD-WAN, and more. This role is pivotal in troubleshooting, resolving complex issues, and ensuring seamless network performance while upholding security standards and mitigating vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Network Design & Maintenance:

  • Plan, deploy, and maintain LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN networks to ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability – Cisco, Aruba, etc.
  • Configure and support dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.

Wireless Infrastructure Management:

  • Administer and optimize Aruba wireless networks, ensuring seamless connectivity and coverage.
  • Troubleshoot wireless performance issues and implement solutions.

Troubleshooting & Incident Management:

  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex network issues within defined SLAs.
  • Act as a primary escalation point for major incidents impacting network operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime during incidents.

Vulnerability Management:

  • Monitor and manage network vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Apply patches, updates, and fixes to network infrastructure to safeguard against threats.

Performance Optimization:

  • Analyze network performance metrics and implement improvements for better efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to quality of service (QoS) standards.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and incident resolutions.
  • Provide regular reports on network performance, vulnerabilities, and incident trends.

 

Technology Integration & Upgrades:

  • Evaluate emerging network technologies and recommend upgrades or enhancements to existing systems, through automation.
  • Lead the implementation of network projects and transitions with minimal impact on operations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Relevant certifications may offset the need for a degree.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience managing enterprise-level networks, including LAN, WAN, and wireless systems.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • Aruba Certified Mobility Associate (ACMA)

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in configuring and managing Cisco switches, routers, and SD-WAN.
  • Proficient in dynamic routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
  • Strong knowledge of Aruba wireless solutions and troubleshooting tools.
  • Experience in vulnerability scanning and remediation (e.g., Rapid 7, Nessus, Qualys).
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Fluke).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
