Job Description

This designer will have the opportunity to produce basic pattern designs using Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools.

 

Duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Contributes to design modifications to improve the quality and function of the product on Engineering Change & NPI projects.
  • Perform advanced modelling, detailing, redrawing, and tracing of drawings on components, assemblies, and engineering change orders.
  • Participate in DFMEA, PPAP’s, DFMA & RCFA as required.
  • Review of 2D/3D designs to ensure compliance to standards and best practices.
  • Work closely with Cross functional teams (Manufacturing, Marketing, Sourcing, Testing...Etc.) to move products from design to manufacturing.
  • Coordinate design reviews, ensuring approvals from all relevant cross-functional teams.
  • Develop concept designs related to sheet metal and plastics using advanced design methodologies and techniques.
  • Ensures that drawings incorporate all design features and maintain the product style.
  • This role demands a high degree of flexibility and the ability to drive design activities with limited supervision.

Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Good oral and written communications skills. Knowledge of CAD software techniques and tools. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

 

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of refrigeration and HVAC systems is a plus.
  • CAD certifications are advantage (preferably SolidEdge, Creo, or similar)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for mechanical design.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quicky to new techniques and processes, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
