Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires at least 5 years related experience.

Has broad expertise including purchasing for lean manufacturing, Kanban and supplier development. May be the in-house expert in specific areas. Requires excellent negotiation abilities and strong analytical skills. Shows exceptional verbal and written communication skills including with executives or in international contexts. Requires knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality control. Must have knowledge of economic principles and financial markets. Competent in computerized procurement systems. Requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. May require MS Access experience.
