Job Description

This engineer researches, designs, develops and tests computer systems and components. The person in this position may also assign work to drafters and technicians.

 

  • Design, develop, and test electrical systems, components, and equipment for control applications.
  • Develop control strategies for HVAC systems including chillers, air handlers, and VAVs.
  • Design and layout PCBs based on electrical schematics and mechanical constraints.
  • Perform signal integrity analysis, EMI/EMC mitigation, and power distribution network design.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, firmware, and software teams for seamless integration.
  • Design and develop control hardware systems including PCBs, wiring harnesses, and enclosures.
  • Select and integrate components such as sensors, actuators, relays, PLCs, and microcontrollers.
  • Evaluate test reports and system data to troubleshoot and optimize performance.
  • Make quick, data-driven decisions to resolve hardware challenges and improve reliability.
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation of control systems in lab and field environments.
  • Work with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, CAN, and Ethernet/IP.

Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Requires at least 1 year related experience.

  • Ability to independently manage project tasks and responsibilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop new competencies.
  • Experience with Python, MATLAB, or C++ is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication skills and curiosity about HVAC technologies, alternative refrigerants, and energy systems.
  • Well-organized, self-motivated, and a collaborative team player.
